Stationary or Mobile – In some scenarios it may be necessary for the investigator to follow the person under surveillance. In a stationary surveillance situation the investigator will remains in one location or spot. With mobile surveillance the investigator actively follows the person under investigation, either on foot or in a vehicle or even an aircraft if need be.
